9 Questions with Weatherford Cheer’s Maddie Miller – Presented by Eagle Realty – The Morley Group

VYPE: What grade are you in, and how long have you been cheering?
Maddie Miller: I am a senior. I started cheering in sixth grade.

VYPE: What originally got you interested in cheerleading?
MM: What originally got me interested in cheerleading was watching all the older cheerleaders cheer.

VYPE: What position or role do you usually have on the team?
MM: I’m a captain on the team and a back spot.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory with your cheer team so far?
MM: My favorite memory so far was getting to stay at a cabin when we cheered in Broken Bow.

VYPE: What is the most challenging part of cheer for you, and how do you overcome it?
MM: The most challenging part of cheer is long practices, and my teammates help me overcome this by being encouraging and positive.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite stunt, tumble, or part of a routine?
MM: My favorite part of a routine is the cheer section in Game Day competition.

VYPE: How do you motivate your teammates or bring energy to the squad?
MM: I motivate my teammates by staying positive and not getting mad at my teammates when something doesn’t hit.

VYPE: Have you received any special recognitions, nominations, or honors in cheerleading?
MM: I was chosen as cheer captain, and I got invited to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school, and do you see cheer being a part of your future?
MM: After high school, I plan to go to college and hopefully get to cheer again one day.
