Weatherford High School junior Graham Riddell likes the competition, but what he values most is the bond built with his teammates. He said the brotherhood and friendship within the program stand out as the best parts of being on the team.
Weatherford junior Graham Riddell says his uncle is his biggest inspiration because he is always helpful and there when he needs anything. Riddell, a wide receiver and outside linebacker, said athletics has taught him to work harder, a lesson he expects to carry into life beyond football.
Riddell also said his favorite game memory came when he intercepted a pass against Elk to help seal the win. One of the craziest things he has seen on the football field was a broken arm, a reminder of how physical the sport can be.
The junior said his favorite class is science, and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Blanchard. When he is away from football, Riddell likes going to the lake and listening to music before games to get mentally prepared.
As a wide receiver and outside linebacker, Riddell said speed is the toughest part of his job. Still, he embraces the challenge and said he appreciates teammates who push themselves and everyone around them to work harder.
Riddell’s football answers show a player who values effort, preparation and relationships. For him, the game has been about more than stats and positions. It has been about growth, discipline and the people around him.
