Q&A with Weatherford Athletic Director Kyle Null – Presented by Weatherford Chiropractic Clinic

Athletic Director Kyle Null is in his first year of leading the Weatherford High School athletic department. We wanted to help you get to know him a little better.

VYPE: Where have you served as AD or coach before becoming AD at Weatherford?

Kyle: Started coaching career at Yukon  where I coached football, softball, basketball, and baseball. Moved to Weatherford in 2015. At Weatherford I have coached softball, golf and Boys Basketball. Last year I was the Dean of students. This year AD.

VYPE: What sports did you play as a student athlete?

Kyle: In high school I played football, Basketball, and baseball

VYPE: Did you play in college? If so, what sports and where?

Kyle: Yes, I played baseball at Mid-America Christian University

VYPE: What made you want to become an Athletic Director?

Kyle: Being a coach for the past 15 years I always saw myself getting into administration and last year after Coach Roof left I felt that it was a good fit for me to make the move from dean of students to AD.

VYPE: What do you enjoy about being an Athletic Director?

Kyle: I enjoy getting to go and watch our coaches coach. Being a coach you don’t really get the chance to go watch other sports practice but now I get to see them and I really enjoy it.

VYPE: What is something about your role as an Athletic Director that might surprise some people?

Kyle: The amount of paperwork we have to do.

VYPE: What three adjectives would you use to describe yourself?

Kyle: Hard-worker, communicator, listener

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

Kyle: Hanging out with family and friends

VYPE: What motivates you as an athletic director?

Kyle: To give our athletes and coaches everything they need to be successful

VYPE: You are stranded on a deserted island, with food and water already provided, what three items do you have with you? Kyle: Blanket, pillow, and an air mattress
