Volleyball Senior Season Reflection with Weatherford’s – Dessa Miranda – Presented by Recker & Recker, PC

VYPE: How did your season turn out and what goals did you have?

Dessa: My senior season was difficult but I am proud of how my teammates and I played. My goal was to be the best leader I could be. I was voted to be team captain by my teammates, which gave me the opportunity to encourage and guide them during challenging games.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Dessa: The most fun I had in the last year was when all of Weatherford volleyball competed in a lip sync battle. Everyone was laughing and having so much fun the entire time.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Dessa: My favorite teacher was my junior year English teacher, Mrs. Sanders. She is very funny and always willing to help no matter the task.

VYPE: Who do you look up to and why?

Dessa: I look up to my parents. They have shaped me into who I am today. They are caring and intelligent, which makes them amazing teachers and parents.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Dessa: Mallory Miller is the teammate that has left the biggest impression on me. She works hard while still having fun. She is not afraid to try new things and lifts others up. She is an awesome teammate.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Dessa: Being on a team is like being on a family. They are there for you when times are hard and always make you smile.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Dessa: I would go to Greece and I would take my family. They are my best friends and I know I would enjoy looking at the beautiful architecture with them.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing volleyball?

Dessa: I started playing volleyball my sixth grade year with my older sister, Dacia. She was on the Wind club volleyball team, and even though they did not have a team for my age group, I still got to practice with them.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Dessa: I would like to say thank you and goodbye to the Weatherford volleyball program. It was great getting to be part of a team with so many amazing girls. You all slowly became part of my family and I am glad I spent my volleyball career with you all. Remember to always work hard and have fun!
