Weatherford’s Cooper Bryant – Athlete Spotlight – Weatherford Chiropractic Clinic

Cooper Bryant is entering his senior year at Weatherford High School with a steady focus on leadership, resilience and team unity, qualities shaped by years of experience on both sides of the football.

Bryant, who plays wide receiver and defensive back, said the lessons he has learned through athletics extend far beyond the field. “Mistakes happen, but you can’t always fix them, so just keep your head up and keep working,” he said.

Support from those closest to him has been a driving force. Bryant credits his family and coaches as his biggest inspirations. “They support me and are great role models,” he said.

Known for his versatility, Bryant embraces the challenges that come with playing multiple positions. He said blocking as a receiver and recognizing plays on defense are among the most difficult aspects of his role, requiring both physical effort and mental awareness on every snap.

Team chemistry is another defining part of Bryant’s experience. He described the Eagles as a tight-knit group that motivates one another daily. “We are very close like brothers and are there for each other,” he said. “They’re fun to be around and push me to get better every day.”

One of Bryant’s favorite memories came during his sophomore season in a dramatic win over Elk City. “Getting an interception on the final play of the game to beat Elk City,” he said, recalling the moment that sealed the victory.

He also remembers the electric atmosphere during Weatherford’s 100th anniversary celebration of the Custer County conflict, calling it the craziest environment he has seen on the field due to the packed stadium.

Off the field, Bryant enjoys spending time with friends and watching sports, while math stands out as his favorite subject in school.

As he prepares for each game, Bryant keeps his routine simple and meaningful. “I like to say a prayer before every game,” he said.

With his senior season ahead, Bryant continues to lean on discipline, faith and team bonds as he looks to make a lasting impact for Weatherford.
