
CLASS 6A
Bartlesville
- Bartlesville travels to Enid on September 18th to take on head coach Matt Hennesy’s alma-mater. It’s the first game between the teams since 2015. The last 10 games are split right down the middle.
- Quarterback Michael Kent completed 15 of 17 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns in the Bruins 55-0 win over Capitol Hill.
- Bartlesville and Skiatook open the season on August 28th in Bartlesville. The teams haven’t played since 2013. The Bruins have won the last two and three of the four meetings all-time.
Bixby
- Bixby faces Stillwater for the first time since 2021 on September 4th. The Spartans have won 7 of the 8 all-time meetings.
- Maverick Nance repeated as the Class 6A state champion in the discus and added the shot put state championship to his resume this spring.
- Bixby defeated Union 51-14 in the Class 6A-I quarterfinals. It was the first game between the teams since 2020 and only the second since 2011. Bixby leads the all-time series 21-5.
Booker T. Washington
- The Hornets and Carl Albert will face off for the first time since 2011. It will be the 13th overall meeting between the teams and the all-time series is tied at six wins each.
- Booker T. Washington and Muskogee have met every year since 2014. The Hornets ended a three game losing streak to the Roughers last year with a 21-14 win. Booker T. leads the series 15-13.
- Quarterback Max Houston completed 7 of 12 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns plus a successful two-point conversion in the Hornets 42-10 district win over Bishop Kelley.
Broken Arrow
- Corey Sango rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers 29-10 win over Union.
- Broken Arrow and Mustang will meet for the third straight year on October 15th. The teams have split the two games decided by a total of eight points. The Tigers won 21-14 in 2025.
- The Tigers defense allowed just 18.8 points per game in 2025. That’s an improvement of 18.1 points per game from the previous year. Broken Arrow hasn’t shutout an opponent since 2019.
Capitol Hill
- Quarterback Don Van Pool led Capitol Hill to a perfect 12-0 season, winning the 1949 Class A Championship 28-14 over Seminole.
- The Red Wolves will open the season against Douglass. Capitol Hill has lost its last nine games to the Trojans last tasting victory in 1978.
- Capitol Hill is 7-10 all-time against Putnam City. The teams first met in 1944 with Capitol Hill winning the first seven. Putnam City has won the last ten beginning in 1965.
Choctaw
- Transfer quarterback Cal Whittnah completed 19 of 31 passes for 215 yards and rushed for another 189 yards and scored six touchdowns for Harrah last year in a 45-43 win over Bethany.
- Kaidis Vick comes to Choctaw from Douglass. Vick shined last year for the Trojans in a Soul Bowl win over Millwood. He rushed for a pair of scores and was responsible for 11 tackles, three sacks and a safety against the Falcons.
- Choctaw closes the regular season on the road at Eisenhower. The Yellowjackets have won six in a row over the Eagles after dropping the first ten meetings dating back to 1996.
Deer Creek
- Quarterback Dax Chancey completed 25 of 34 passes for 384 yards and three touchdowns in the Antlers 59-45 loss to Mustang.
- Wide receiver Gage Gibbons caught 11 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown in Deer Creek’s 30-28 win over Norman High.
- Deer Creek and Union will meet for the first time on October 23rd in Tulsa.
Edmond
- Wide receiver Cam Quarrels caught 6 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs 35-18 win over Edmond North.
- Colton McComb rushed 7 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns and added nine tackles including a tackle for loss in Edmond’s 35-7 win over Deer Creek.
- Edmond will be looking for its first win against Mustang since 2013, the teams did not meet the last two years. The Broncos have won 4 straight in the series.
Edmond North
- Edmond North and Edmond Memorial meet for the 32nd time on September 25th. The Huskies will be trying to break a three-game losing streak and keep hold of the all-time edge in the series at 16-15.
- Quarterback Chauncey Cravens was responsible for 294 yards passing, 85 yards rushing and a total of five touchdowns in the Huskies 49-48 loss to Farmington, Arkansas.
- The Huskies face Broken Arrow on November 5th for the first time since 2007. Edmond North will be looking for its first win in the series after losing the previous four.
Edmond Santa Fe
- Santa Fe will host Bentonville, AR-West on September 11th. The Wolverines finished 8-4 in Class 7A last year, losing to eventual champion Conway in the quarterfinals.
- Deer Creek is on the Santa Fe schedule for the first time since 2017. Santa Fe has won both previous meetings against the Antlers.
- First year head coach Darwin Franklin takes over at Santa Fe after compiling 128 wins against just 32 losses in 13 years at Millwood. Franklin won two state championships with the Falcons.
Enid
- Keon Young scored a pair of defensive touchdowns against Mustang. Young returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown and 75 yards for a second touchdown in a 33-32 loss to the Broncos.
- The Plainsmen have dropped 13 straight games to Jenks, including back-to-back shutouts the past two seasons. Enid last defeated Jenks 6-3 in the first round of the 1991 state playoffs.
- Enid dropped a tough one point decision to Mustang on October 4th. It was the first meeting between the teams since 2006. The Broncos have won three of the five in the series.
Jenks
- Quarterback Landon Kizzar completed 15 of 20 passing for 287 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-30 win over Union,
- Jenks and Southlake, TX-Carroll open the season in a titanic matchup. Jenks has won four straight against teams from Texas, last losing 46-27 to Desoto in 2012.
- That’s not the only challenge on the non-conference slate. Jenks travels to Rogers, Arkansas on September 4th. The Mounties were 10-2 in 2025 and lost in the Class 7A semifinals to eventual state champion Conway.
Lawton Ike
- Eisenhower travels to Duncan on September 11th for the first regular season meeting against the Demons since 1977. The teams have met just once in between with Duncan winning 21-3 in 2020.
- Norman makes an appearance on the Eagles schedule for the first time since 1981 on October 2nd. Eisenhower is 2-0 all-time against the Tigers.
- This will be the 65th season of football for Eisenhower. Bill Whiteley is the all-time leader in wins at the school with 66 victories in 11 seasons as head coach.
Moore
- Ozias Adams rushed 16 times for 109 yards and a touchdown and caught another touchdown pass in the Lions 28-20 win over Southmoore.
- Moore travels to Choctaw on September 4th. It’s the first time the teams have played since 2011. The Lions have won 9 of the last ten meetings.
- The Lions come into the season with a two game winning streak over Westmoore for the first time since 2001. This year marks the 43 meeting in the series.
Muskogee
- The Muskogee-McAlester series is back on for the first time since 2019. The Roughers have won four in a row and lead the all-time series 43-14.
- The Roughers open the season at Springdale, Arkansas. It’s the first game against the Bulldogs since 1993. Springdale is 5-0-1 against Muskogee with the tie coming in the first meeting in 1966.
- Corey Hutton comes to Muskogee from Fort Gibson. Hutton rushed 17 times for 200 yards and two touchdowns helping the Tigers beat Glenpool 42-21 in 2025.
Mustang
- Quarterback Mason Delgado completed 20 of 25 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns in a 55-29 win for Muskogee against Ponca City. This will be Delgado’s first year at Mustang.
- Mustang has scored in double figures in 27 straight games and 77 of the 80 coached by Lee Blankenship. The Broncos have not been shutout with Blankenship as the head coach.
- Mustang and Norman will play for the 7th consecutive season. Each team has won three of the previous six games. The Broncos have averaged 40 points in those six contests.
Norman
- 2026 will mark the 29th edition of the Crosstown Clash with rival Norman North. The Tigers have taken the last two in the series and hold a 15-13 edge all-time.
- Norman hosts Putnam West on November 6th. It’s the first contest between the teams since 2013. The Tigers enter with a 10-game winning streak against the Patriots.
- Norman and Putnam City square off for the first time since 2015. The Tigers have lost the last two but hold a 14-8 all-time edge against the Pirates in a series that dates back to 1960.
Norman North
- Quarterback Nash Henry completed 23 of 30 for 419 yards and four touchdowns in the Timberwolves 61-24 walloping of Moore.
- Norman North will meet opponents Sand Springs and Piedmont for the first time in school history in 2026.
- The Timberwolves face Edmond North in the regular season for the first time since 2021. The Timberwolves have won 10 straight against the Huskies last losing in 2000.
Northwest Classen
- The Knights have won a district game in each of the last three seasons. Northwest knocked off US Grant 20-8 to claim its lone district win in 2024.
- Northwest Classen secured its only state football championship in 1959 at Taft Stadium. Walt Lawson returned a fumble 66 yards for a touchdown to beat Norman High 16-14.
- Northwest Classen last defeated Choctaw 7-0 in 1990. The Yellowjackets have won four straight in the series including 57-0 in 2024.
Owasso
- Quarterback Drew Frankenfield completed 21 of 25 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns in Owasso’s 52-7 win at Westmoore.
- Kamieon Compton-Nero is at Owasso after spending the last two years at Rejoice Christian. Compton-Nero accounted for 291 total yards and four touchdowns in a 49-8 quarterfinals win over Hooker.
- The Rams take on Stillwater for the first time since 2013. It will be the 31st meeting between the teams with Owasso holding a 17-13 advantage and winners of two in a row.
Piedmont
- Knoxtyn Rollo rushed 11 times for 173 yards and four touchdowns in the Wildcats 53-28 first round playoff win over Bartlesville.
- Brooks Backus rushed 26 times for 143 yards and a touchdown in Piedmont’s first ever win over Stillwater in football 21-14.
- Piedmont has won seven straight and eight of nine all-time meetings against Lawton Eisenhower. The teams square off this season on October 16th.
Ponca City
- Ponca City smashed Enid 65-6 in the 2025 season opener. It was the largest margin of victory for Ponca in series history, eclipsing a 33-point win in 2002.
- The Ponca City-Stillwater rivalry is back on for the first time since 2013. The Wildcats will be looking to end a two-game losing streak to the Pioneers. The teams met every year from 1944 to 2013.
- The Wildcats will meet Norman High for the fifth time in the regular season. The teams have split the four previous meetings. Norman won the only playoff game 27-24 in the 1986 Class 5A quarterfinals.
Putnam City
- The Pirates host Booker T. Washington on September 11th. It’s the first ever regular season meeting between the teams. Putnam City defeated the Hornets 24-20 to win the 1975 Class 4A State Championship.
- Putnam City ended a five game losing streak to Choctaw with a dramatic 28-27 overtime win over the Yellowjackets in 2025.
- The Pirates defense recorded three shutouts in 2025. That’s the most in a single season since the 2007 Pirates did the same on the way to a 10-2 finish.
Putnam North
- The Panthers face Bishop McGuinness to open the season on August 28th. The schools are 11 miles apart but will be playing for the first time ever in football.
- Putnam North and Lawton Ike will square off for the first time since 2013. Eisenhower defeated North 35-7 to win the 1990 Class 5A State Championship.
- The Putnam North and Putnam West series is unbroken since 1980. The Pathers have won the last two by a combined score of 105-0 and are up 28-19 all-time.
Putnam West
- The Patriots host El Reno on September 4th. It’s the first game between the teams since 1969, Putnam West’s second season of football. The Indians are 2-0 all-time in the series.
- Putnam West opens the season against Capitol Hill. The teams will play for the third consecutive season. The Patriots are 10-0 all-time against Capitol Hill.
- Putnam West will play in the same district with Putnam North and Putnam City for the first time ever in 2026.
Sand Springs
- Wide receiver Dom Forbes caught 6 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns in the Sandites 35-18 win over arch-rival Sapulpa.
- Quarterback Cash Koertner comes to Sand Springs from Norman. Koertner threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns in the Tigers 44-21 win over Santa Fe in 2025.
- Sand Springs and Muskogee will meet for the 25th consecutive year on November 6th. The Sandites ended a three game losing streak to the Roughers with a 49-28 win a year ago.
Southmoore
- Southmoore and Westmoore will play for the 20th time on September 25th. The Sabercats have won two in a row over the rival Jaguars but trail the all-time series 12-7.
- The Sabercats defeated Ponca City 21-14 for their first playoff victory since 2009. Southmoore is 3-9 all-time in the post season.
- Southmoore opens the season against Bishop Kelley on August 27th. It’s the first ever meeting between the teams in football.
Stillwater
- Jae Adams rushed 25 times for 248 yards and two touchdowns in the Pioneers 31-15 win over Union.
- Quarterback Satank Taptto rushed 17 times for 129 yards and three touchdowns to help defeat Choctaw 21-14.
- Stillwater and Lawton will meet for the 10th time overall and the first time since 2021 on September 18th. The Pioneers have won four in a row over the Wolverines.
U.S. Grant
- Capitol Hill is the longest running rival on the US Grant schedule. Over the last twenty meetings, Capitol Hill owns an 11-9 edge and won last year 19-12.
- The Generals will be looking for their second win against Putnam City on October 16th. US Grant last defeated the Pirates in 1980, 29-28
- Ninth year head coach Alex Levescy will pass Bob Davis and Dean Choate on the Generals all-time wins list with his next victory.
Union
- Union opens the season at Bentonville, AR. The Tigers finished 12-1 a year ago, losing 27-7 to Conway in the Class 7A State Finals.
- Union and Jenks will play in the same district for the first time since 1997.
- Wide receiver Brandon Dewberry won the Class 6A 200 meters with a time of 20.73, setting a new state track meet record.
Westmoore
- Edmond North appears on the Westmoore schedule for the first time since 2017. The Jags have won the last two and 9 out of 13 since the rivalry’s inception in 1994.
- This will be Westmoore’s 39th year for football. Mike Whaley owns the all-time wins record for a head coach, going 76-31 from 2000 to 2009.
- Westmoore and Norman will meet for the 35th time on September 4th. The Jaguars will be looking to end a two-game skid, but own the series lead 23-11 over the Tigers.
Yukon
- Yukon hosts Edmond Santa Fe on September 18th. The Millers have won two straight against the Wolves, improving to 4-18 all-time in the series.
- Yukon ended a three-game losing streak to Westmoore with a 49-24 win over the Jaguars. The teams will meet for the 20th time on September 11th.
- Prince Shelburn helped carry the Millers to that win over Westmoore, rushing 27 times for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
CLASS 5A
Altus
- Duncan returns to the schedule after a two-year absence. Altus ended a six-game losing streak to the Demons with a 33-14 win in 2023. Duncan leads the all-time series 14-13.
- Altus and Shawnee will face off for the first time ever in the regular season on October 15th. The teams have met twice in the playoffs with Shawnee winning both, the last coming in 2009.
- The Bulldogs defeated Noble 70-18 on October 18th. It was the most points in a singe game for Altus since a 77-7 win over Southeast in 2013.
Bishop Kelley
- Quarterback Max Gipson racked up 268 total yards and two touchdowns in the Comets 24-14 win over Springdale, Arkansas.
- The Comets will have a chance to even the all-time series against East Central at seven when the teams meet on November 6th. Kelley has won the last four in a row.
- Bishop Kelley and Sapulpa last played each other in 2017. The series began in 1963. The Comets have a two-game winning streak and last lost to the Chieftains in 1977.
Bishop McGuinness
- McGuinness is on a roll in the Battle of the Bishops. The Irish have won three in a row and 8 out of the last ten against Bishop Kelley. McGuinness leads the all-time series 27-13.
- Bishop McGuinness finished with 12 wins for the first time since 2017. The Irish have won 12 or more games five times in school history.
- Quarterback Gage Chance completed 12 of his 17 passes for 148 yards and ran for two touchdowns in the Irish 24-14 win over Newcastle.
Carl Albert
- The Titans enter the season on a 53-game winning streak. It’s the second longest streak for 11-man football in Oklahoma. Carl Albert could break the record held by Bixby on October 2nd at Noble.
- Delijah Matthews rushed 23 times for 181 yards and four touchdowns in the Titans 47-42 win over Guthrie.
- Quarterback Anderson Collier completed 14 of 19 passing for 267 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-21 win over Altus.
Claremore
- Ayden Gaines caught 7 passes for 252 yards and totaled six touchdowns, including a punt return for Oologah last year against Catoosa. Gaines will be playing in his first season at Claremore this fall.
- Claremore opens the season on the road at Sallisaw. It’s the first meeting between the teams since 1989. Claremore is 1-3 all-time against the Black Diamonds and last won 27-14 in 1988.
- The Zebras have amassed 27 wins the past three seasons that’s the most victories over that time span since 1993-1995 when Zebras also won 27 contests.
Classen SAS
- Leo Higbie is the all-time winningest coach in Classen football history. Higbee won 59 games from 1937 to 1946. Higbee graduated from Classen High School and played for Henry Iba when he was the coach of the Comets.
- The Comets played Bishop McGuinness for the first time since 1979 on September 27th. The Irish came away with a 63-0 win and have won all three meetings between the teams.
- Classen scored just 27 points in 2024. The average of 2.7 points per game was the lowest in Class 5A football.
Collinsville
- Quarterback Carter Vaughan completed 24 of 30 passes for 364 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-24 win at Tahlequah.
- Collinsville and Claremore square off on November 2nd. This will be the 11th straight meeting between the teams. The Cardinals ended a two-game losing streak to the Zebras with a 24-0 shutout in 2025.
- The Collinsville-Grove series is even at nine wins per side. The Cardinals will be going for their 7th win in 8 tries against the Ridgerunners in the home opener on September 4th.
Coweta
- Quarterback Legend Ellis is a two-time state champion in wrestling. Ellis accounted for 270 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in the Tigers 41-12 win over Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
- Brock Heilmann rushed 35 times for 282 yards and a touchdown in Coweta’s 44-20 win over Fort Smith Northside.
- Coweta travels to Wagoner to open the season on August 28th. The Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 21-7 in 2025, ending a two-game skid in the series. The teams have split the last 56 meetings going back to 1963.
Del City
- The Eagles have won 9 or more games the past five years, totaling 51 wins during that time span. It’s the most in a five year stretch in Del City history. Before 2021, the Eagles had never won 9 games in back-to-back seasons.
- Kaleb Blackwolf scored 5 touchdowns, including a 57-yard punt return and the game winner in overtime to help the Eagles eliminate Booker T. Washington 34-31 in the first round of the playoffs.
- Del City and Southeast will play for the first time since 2017. The Eagles have won eight in a row over the Spartans and last lost 20-14 in 1971.
Duncan
- The Demons will be looking to end a 13-game losing streak to Lawton High on October 30th. The last Duncan win in the series was 42-12 in 1966.
- Duncan will travel to Durant on October 2nd to take on the Lions, marking the first game between the teams since 2011. The Demons are a perfect 6-0 all-time against Durant.
- Duncan defeated Midwest City 54-16 in 2025. It was the first win in 18 tries over the Bombers in a series that began in 1952.
Durant
- Durant will be seeking its first win against Carl Allbert since 1984 when the teams meet on October 9th. It’s the first game between the schools since 2009.
- The Lions will travel to Clinton to face the Red Tornados on September 18th. The teams have only played one time previously. Clinton won that encounter 12-0 in the 1978 Class 2A State Championship.
- Ardmore returns to the schedule for the first time since 2019. This will be the 75th all-time meeting. Durant will be aiming to end a six game losing streak to the Tigers.
East Central
- The Cardinals home opener is against Central on September 11th. The teams last met in 2013. East Central has won 13 of the last 14 against the Braves, dating back to 1987.
- East Central opens up the season at US Grant. It will be the first ever games between the two squads.
- Current Broken Arrow head coach Travis Hill is the all-time leader in wins at East Central. Hill compiled a record of 129-31 from 1999 to 2011.
El Reno
- El Reno and Southeast square off for the first time since 2021. The Indians have won 13 in a row against the Spartans, last losing in 1972.
- Chickasha is not on the 2026 schedule. The Indians had won three in a row against the Fightin’ Chicks. The teams have played 77 times.
- Newcastle comes to El Reno on October 30th. It will be the first ever football game between the Indians and Racers.
Elgin
- The Owls have won 30 consecutive regular season games last losing to Midwest City 23-21 on November 4th, 2022.
- Elgin has held opponents to 20 points or less in 43 of its last 50 games dating back to the start of the 2022 season. It’s been 44 games since the Owls have allowed 30 points in a game.
- Defensive End Tucker New-Henson won the Class 5A state championship in the discus with a throw of 174 feet and one inch. Henson recorded 9 tackles in last year’s 4A State Championship game.
Guthrie
- Quarterback Daelon Rice completed 9 of his 11 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns in Guthrie’s 48-7 win over Blanchard.
- The Bluejays will be going for their 11th straight win against Noble on October 23rd. Guthrie is 23-2 all-time against the Bears.
- Guthrie travels to Durant on October 30th to face the Lions for the first time since 2011. The Bluejays have won five straight against Durant.
Glenpool
- Glenpool and Oologah resume their football series on September 10th for the first time since 2017. The Warriors will be looking to end a three game losing streak to the Mustangs.
- After two years in Class 4A, the Warriors return to Class 5A in 2026. Fort Gibson will not return to the schedule after playing in each of the last six seasons.
- Skiatook is the longest continuous opponent on the Warriors schedule. The teams will play for the 11th consecutive season on September 4th. The last four meetings have been decided by 7 points or less.
John Marshall
- John Marshall will open the season against Star Spencer. It’s the first game between the teams since 2013. The Bears have won 9 of the 11 meetings dating back to 1961.
- The Bears take on Southeast for the first time since 2007. John Marshall will be seeking to end a four game losing streak against the Spartans and their first win since 2001.
- Heritage Hall drops off the schedule for the first time in nine years. The Bears had lost four in a row to the Chargers and were outscored 177-6.
Lawton
- Quarterback Noah Smith threw for 496 yards and six touchdowns for Blanchard in a 63-40 loss to Newcastle. Smith will be a junior this season at Lawton High.
- Lawton will face St. Louis, MO-University City on September 4th at the University of Missouri. The Lions finished 9-2 in 2025.
- The Wolverines will host Durant on October 23rd. It’s the first meeting between the teams since 1965. Lawton won that meeting 41-14.
Lawton Mac
- Defensive back Quinton Mask blistered the field at the Class 5A State Track Meet, winning the 100-meters with a time of 10.18.
- Connor Claborn logged 43 carries for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the Highlanders 70-49 playoff win over Del City
- MacArthur has won six in a row against its fellow Lawton Public Schools by a combined score of 286-67.
McAlester
- Brandon Smith caught 7 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown in the Buffaloes 22-15 loss to Coweta.
- Head coach Jeff Craig picked up his 180th all-time win, defeating Shawnee 34-7 on November 7th.
- McAlester and Broken Bow will face each other for the 7th straight year. The Buffs will be looking to even the all-time series at 17 wins a piece after dropping a 23-20 decision in 2025
Memorial
- Memorial and Central will meet for the 17th consecutive year in the season opener. The Chargers will be looking to end a five game losing streak to the Braves.
- The Chargers travel to Bishop McGuinness on October 16th. It will be the first ever meeting between the Chargers and the Fighting Irish.
Midwest City
- The Bombers host Enid on September 4th. It’s the first game between the teams since 2017. Midwest City has won 10 in a row over the Plainsmen.
- Midwest City has won eight in a row against Putnam City. The Bombers and the Pirates will play for the first time since 2019.
- Midwest City and Lawton will meet for the 31st time since the series began in 1978. The Bombers have won eight in a row over the Wolverines.
Nathan Hale
- The Rangers finished with four wins in 2025, the most in a single season since the 2009 team ended with a mark of 6-4.
- Nathan Hale ended a five game losing streak to East Central with a 23-6 win over the Cardinals. The teams will not meet in 2026 after playing for the last eight consecutive seasons.
- Quarterback Justin Deroin rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another score in Nathan Hale’s 55-14 win over Daniel Webster.
Newcastle
- Alec Shumard caught 7 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns, plus returned an interception for a touchdown in the Racers 63-40 win over Blanchard.
- Shumard is also the Class 5A state champion in the 400-meters, 800 meters and the 4 x 800 meter relay. Shumard won the quarter with a time of 47.99
- That win over Blanchard ended a five game losing streak to the Lions and evened the all time series at 26-26.
Noble
- Taven Hayes comes to Noble from Southmoore. Hayes was brilliant quarterbacking the Sabercats to a 43-14 win over Putnam North, throwing for four touchdowns and rushing for another.
- Noble and El Reno will meet for the 9th straight year. The Bears have won the last two with three of the last four games decided by one point.
- The Bears meet the Durant Lions for the first time since 2017. The teams have split 10 all-time meetings with Noble winning the last contest 37-14.
Pryor
- Wide receiver Jackson Parks caught five passes for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Tigers 46-36 playoff win over Bishop Kelley.
- The Tigers will face Fort Smith-Southside for the first time ever. The Mavericks finished with a record of 6-5 in 2025.
- Pryor will be looking to end a four game losing streak to Coweta. The Tigers are back on the schedule after two years off. Pryor last won 42-41 in 2013.
Sapulpa
- Sapulpa and McAlester will meet for the 8th time in a series that began in 1949. The Chieftains have won 2 in a row by a combined six points over the Buffaloes.
- Sapulpa and East Central meet for the 35th time on September 25th. The Chieftains are aiming for their fourth win in a row over the Cardinals. They last lost to East Central in 2007.
- After a two year absence, Glenpool returns to the schedule. The Chieftains won the last two games against the nearby Warriors by a combined 111-19 margin.
Shawnee
- Shawnee and El Reno face off for the first time since 2005. The Wolves have won three in a row over the Indians and last lost 6-0 in 1947.
- Ponca City and Shawnee meet for the first time since 2019. The teams have split the last six meetings with Ponca City taking the last one 21-7.
- Shawnee and Lawton MacArthur will meet for the first time in the regular season on October 30th. Shawnee defeated the Highlanders 21-20 to win the 2003 Class 5A State Title.
Southeast
- Southeast shut out three opponents in 2025. That’s the most since Brooks Mozier’s team shutout four opponents, playing as an Independent in 1995.
- The Spartans will look to extend a two-game winning streak against Altus on September 25th. It’s the first meeting between the schools since 2021.
- Southeast will look to break a 15-game losing streak to MacArthur. The Spartans lone win in 20 attempts against the Highlanders came in 1991.
Tahlequah
- Tahlequah faces Poteau in the regular season for the first time since 1969. The only meeting since then was a 28-0 playoff win for Tahlequah in 1980.
- The Tigers topped Wagoner 38-31 for their first win against Bulldogs since 1981. The conquest ended a five game losing streak in the series. The teams will meet for the 7th year in a row.
- Tahlequah has won eight in a row over Memorial and is 19-3 all-time against the Chargers.
Thomas Edison
- Edison will meet Bishop McGuinness for only the second time in history. The Fighting Irish clippled the Eagles 42-41 in the 2019 Class 5A quarterfinals.
- The Eagles ended a two game losing streak to East Central with a 27-0 shutout of the Cardinals. Edison has won five of the last seven in the series.
- Thomas Edison is looking to extend its winning streak over Nathan Hale to nine games. Edison has won 12 of the last 15 games between the teams.
Will Rogers
- The Ropers face Sapulpa for the first time since 1991. Will Rogers will be looking to break a three game losing streak in the 25th all-time meeting between the teams.
- Will Rogers plays host to Glenpool on October 30th. It’s the first ever meeting between the two programs in football.
- Will Rogers and East Central will meet for the 9th straight season. New head coach Antwain Jimmerson is now the head coach at Rogers after directing the Cardinals a year ago. East Central won 19-18 in 2025.
CLASS 4A
Ada
- Ada and Poteau will play for the fifth consecutive season. Ada has won the last two games and is 6-2 all-time against the Pirates.
- Durant is on the schedule for the 16th consecutive season. The Cougars have won six in a row and hold a 65-9 advantage in the series history.
Ardmore
- Jamane Stubbefield rushed 21 times for 151 yards and three touchdowns in the Tigers 28-21 first round playoff win over Elk City.
- The Ardmore-Durant series is back on for the first time since 2019. It will be the 75th meeting between the teams with Ardmore holding a 61-13 edge.
Bethany
- Wyatt Keefer rushed 22 times for 151 yards and a touchdown in the Bronchos’ 21-13 season opening win over Noble.
- Bethany and Jones square off for the 7th year in a row. The teams have split those last six meetings and are all square at 18 wins per side in series history.
Blanchard
- Freshman Caysen Garcia rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns in the Lions 56-21 conquest of Tecumseh.
- Blanchard and Bridge Creek High Schools are just 12 miles apart. The teams play for the 19th time on October 23rd. The Lions lead it 14-4 with six straight wins.
Bridge Creek
- The Bobcats will meet four opponents for the first time on the 2026 slate. Bridge Creek defeated the Noble JV 28-12 in 2005 but has never faced the Noble varsity.
- Shaddox Swires completed 24 of his 35 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score in the Bobcats 41-14 loss to Elk City.
Broken Bow
- Greydon Howell completed 21 of 23 passes for 312 yards and five touchdowns and ran for an additional 136 yards and a score in the Savages 70-35 win over Wagoner.
- Jattarrius Neal rushed 25 times for 203 yards and three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass in Broken Bow’s 48-7 win over McLain.
Cache
- Cache is just three wins away from claiming its 250th conquest in school history. The Bulldogs began playing football in 1970.
- The Bulldogs defeated Clinton for the 2nd time in three years 48-45. The series has been a closely contested one lately with 5 of the last 8 decided by a touchdown or less.
Chickasha
- Chickasha has won three in a row over Woodward and the last two by shutout. The Fightin’ Chicks lead the all-time series with the Boomers 8-4.
- Veteran head coach Steve Huff last coached in Oklahoma in 2011. He spent the last four seasons at Decatur, Texas winning 36 games and making two semifinals appearances with the Eagles.
Cleveland
- Cleveland and Hominy is one of the state’s great rivalries. The teams have met over 100 times. They are dead even at 15 wins each in the last 30 meetings. Hominy has won the last five.
- The Tigers 62-0 win over Blackwell in the season opener was the largest margin of victory since a 52-0 blanking of Pawnee in 1998.
Clinton
- Since 1944, Clinton has a losing record against only two schools that it has met 10 or more times; Altus and Heritage Hall.
- Clinton has won 17 state championships, the fourth most in Oklahoma history. The Red Tornados have won at least one state championship in seven consecutive decades.
Cushing
- Cushing has won two straight and 16 of the last 25 meetings in the battle of the Tigers with Cleveland dating back to 1988.
- Lane Simpson caught six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 30-yard score plus intercepted a pass in the Tigers 63-34 playoff win over Hilldale.
Douglass
- The Trojans ended a nine-game losing streak to Millwood, capturing a 22-10 win in the Soul Bowl. Douglass had been outscored 189-0 in the three previous meetings.
- Douglass opens the season against Dallas, Texas-Kimball. The Knights finished 7-4 competing in the Class 4A Division in Texas.
Elk City
- The Elks travel to Childress, Texas on September 11th. The Bobcats finished with a record of 8-4 in 2025, losing to Wall in the 2nd round of the Class 3A-Division-II playoffs.
- Elk City will be going for its fifth straight win over Woodward on October 2nd. The Boomers lead the all-time series 33-27 over the Elks.
Ft. Gibson
- Cash Keys scored four touchdowns including a 40-yard pick six to lead the Tigers to a 42-21 win over Glenpool.
- Fort Gibson and Cleveland will meet for the first time since 2009. Fort Gibson has won two in a row and three of the four all-time meetings.
Grove
- The Ridgerunners will take on Gravette, Arkansas on September 18th. The Lions are coming off a 10-3 season and third round Class 4A playoff appearance.
- Grove defeated Jay 41-7 in 2025. The teams will not meet this season and have no future scheduled games against each other. The series has been a fixture annually for over a century.
Harrah
- Harrah will be going for its seventh straight win over Western Heights. The last Jets win over the Panthers was 23-7 in 2007.
- Harrah has won three in a row over Tecumseh to pull within one game of the Savages in the all-time series. Tecumseh currently has a 24-23 advantage dating back to 1970.
Hilldale
- Stigler returns to the schedule for the first time since 2015. This will be the 25th meeting between the teams with Hilldale winning six in a row and 17 of 24 all-time.
- Hilldale will be looking to go 9-0 all-time against McLain on November 6th. The series dates back to 2011.
Mannford
- JJ Hindsman logged 22 carries for 134 yards with a rushing and receiving touchdown. Hindsman also added eight tackles in Mannford’s 21-18 conquest of Bristow.
- Mannford hosts Catoosa in the season opener on September 4th. The teams haven’t met since 2011. The Pirates lost both previous meetings against the Indians.
McLain
- The Titans have won three in a row over Mannford. The teams will meet for the first time since 2015 on October 15th.
- McLain and Coweta will play for the first time since 2001. The Tigers won the two previous matchups between the teams.
Miami
- Miami hosts Stilwell to open the season on August 28th. The teams haven’t played since 2001. The WarDogs have won two in a row and are 9-3 all-time against the Indians.
- Quarterback Blaise Riley completed 9 of 12 passing for 96 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 102 more yards and two touchdowns in Miami’s 56-0 win over Catoosa.
Oologah
- Quarterback Brock Lustig threw for 213 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-29 win over Skiatook.
- Oologah has won four straight and eight of the last nine against Cleveland. The Mustangs are 19-9 all-time against the Tigers.
Poteau
- The Pirates finished with a winning record at 7-3 but missed the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Poteau has recorded 14 consecutive winning seasons, the second longest streak in 4A to Tuttle.
- Poteau and Stilwell will meet for the 60th time and 17th straight on October 15th. The Pirates have won 16 in a row over the Indians.
Sallisaw
- Sallisaw travels to Rogers, AR-Heritage on September 11th. The War Eagles finished 1-9 in 2025. Heritage is a relatively new school opening in 2008.
- The Black Diamonds will take on Hilldale for the 11th consecutive season. Sallisaw has won three in a row over the Hornets including a 41-29 decision in 2025.
Skiatook
- Quarterback Cole Bray completed 17 of 24 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-0 win over Catoosa.
- Skiatook ended a three game losing streak to Miami with a 21-14 win in 2025. The teams will play for the 7th consecutive season on November 5th.
Stilwell
- Justin Barlow rushed 21 times for 232 yards and four touchdowns in the Indians 34-20 win over Keys.
- Brayton Carter continued to be a multi-purpose weapon in 2025. Carter caught 5 passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns in Stilwell’s 70-36 loss to Broken Bow.
Tecumseh
- Quarterback Wyatt Dodgion completed 17 of 29 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another score in the Savages 36-8 win over Northwest Classen.
- McLoud will not be on the schedule this year after appearing 24 of the last 26 seasons. Tecumseh has won seven straight against the Redskins, including 33-26 in 2025.
Tuttle
- Tuttle has won 13 straight and 32 of the last 34 against Newcastle. The teams square off again this year on September 3rd in Newcastle.
- The Tigers have recorded 31 consecutive winning seasons. The only school in Oklahoma with a longer streak is Jenks at 37 consecutive winning seasons.
Wagoner
- Quarterback Keyshaun Brown completed 16 of 21 passes and accounted for 280 total yards and five touchdowns in a 49-28 win over Oologah.
- Wagoner and Miami will meet for the 25th consecutive season. The Bulldogs have won 21 straight against the WarDogs.
Weatherford
- The Eagles travel to Tecumseh on September 4th. It’s the first matchup between the teams since a 17-7 playoff win for the Eagles in 2001 and the first regular season game since 1995.
- Weatherford and Woodward will meet for the 23rd consecutive season. The Eagles have gotten the best of the Boomers, winning 12 in a row and two of the last three by shutout.
Western Heights
- Blanchard and Western Heights are located less than 25 miles apart. The teams will play this year for the first time since 1962. The all-time series is tied 1-1.
- Western Heights and Chickasha will meet for the 30th time in 2026. The teams last faced off in 2009. The Fighting Chicks hold an 18-11 edge against the Jets.
Woodward
- Woodward and Douglass will meet for the 22nd time on October 15th. The Boomers have won three in a row against the Trojans, including a 21-6 decision in 2025.
- Woodward and Noble will meet for the first time in the regular season since 2007. The Bears eliminated the Boomers from the playoffs 28-14 in 2019. Woodward’s last win in the series came in 1989.
CLASS 3A
Berryhill
- Jordan Smith caught 7 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown and returned an interception 64 yards for a score in the Chiefs 31-8 win over Bristow.
- Berryhill and Catoosa will play for the first time since 1969. Berryhill has won 10 in a row against the Indians and holds a 10-5 edge in the series first played in 1953.
Bristow
- Quarterback Promised Johnson completed 21 of 33 passes for 22 yards and three touchdowns in the Purple Pirates 51-28 win over Victory Christian.
- Bristow and Cushing will meet for the 65th time on September 4th. Each team has won 32 times. Bristow ended a five game losing streak to Cushing with a 35-31 win in 2024.
Catoosa
- Devin Johnson rushed 20 times for 180 yards and a touchdown in the Indians 56-37 loss to Oologah.
- Catoosa and Jay will play for the first time since 2011. The Indians have won three in a row over the Bulldogs including a 49-13 decision the last time the teams met.
Daniel Webster
- Webster will take on Will Rogers for the first time since 2015. The teams have split the last eight meetings with the Ropers winning the last two.
- The Warriors face Okmulgee on September 18th for the first time since 2019. The teams have split the last two meetings with the Bulldogs taking the last 48-8.
Eufaula
- Hartshorne is back on the Eufaula schedule for the first time since 2021. This will be the 53rd meeting between the teams going back to 1953. The Ironheads hold a 28-24 advantage.
- Eufaula and Jay will play for the second time on October 2nd. Eufaula eliminated Jay 35-0 in the first round of the 2005 Class 3A playoffs.
Heritage Hall
- Tripp Thomas caught 8 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers 38-28 win over Plainview.
- The Chargers have now won 87 consecutive district games. Their last district loss was to Newcastle on October 10th of 2013.
Idabel
- Wide receiver Jordyn Lewis caught 7 passes for 170 yards and five touchdowns in the Warriors 55-53 loss to Checotah.
- Idabel takes on DeKalb, Texas for the first time since 1973. The schools are located only 34 miles apart. Idabel has won four of the five games against the Bears.
Inola
- Jayce Kent piled up 266 all-purpose yards with two touchdowns plus an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Longhorns 38-20 win over Checotah.
- Inola and Catoosa will play for the third consecutive year. The Longhorns ended a four game losing streak to the Indians with a 40-2 win in 2025.
Jay
- Michael Rogers rushed 16 times for a season high 171 yards, including a 93-yard scamper in the Bulldogs 34-7 loss to Gravette, Arkansas.
- Jay and Gentry, Arkansas will play for the first time on September 4th in Gentry. The Pioneers finished 7-4 in 2025 and were eliminated in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
Jones
- Jeymon Reed played for his father last year at Altus before moving to Jones. Reed completed 32 of 44 passes for 438 yards and six touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in the Bulldogs 56-22 win over El Reno.
- Jones moves up to Class 3A after winning the Class 2A Division-I championship in 2025. The Longhorns have won 27 playoff games since 2015 and at least one game every year for the past 11 years.
Kingfisher
- The Yellowjackets ended a six game losing streak to Clinton with a 35-28 win in 2025. It was the first victory of the Red Tornados since 2006.
- Brett Calamateo rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns and completed a 72-yard pass for a touchdown in the Yellowjackets 57-42 win over Purcell.
Kingston
- Kingston is on a three game winning streak against Madill in the rivalry referred to as the Marshall County Superbowl. The last two have come by a combined margin of 99-9.
- Kingston will host Billy Sims alma mater, the Hooks, Texas Hornets on September 11th. The Hornets finished 8-4 a year ago, competing in Class 3A-Division II
Locust Grove
- Locust Grove and Bristow will play for the first time since 2001. Bristow has controlled the battle of the Pirates winning the two all-time meetings between the teams.
- The Pirates open the season against Jay. It is the first meeting between the teams since 2019. The teams have split the last four matchups with Jay winning the last one 43-35.
Lone Grove
- Lone Grove faces Kingston for the 10th time and the first since 2021. The Longhorns will be looking to defeat the Redskins for the first time in a series that dates back to 1976.
- Lone Grove and Pauls Valley meet for the 30th time on October 9th. The Longhorns have won five in a row and lead the all-time series 16-13.
McLoud
- Quarterback Phoenix Lopez rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown and threw for two more scores in the Redskins 48-42 loss to Seminole.
- Harrah is on the schedule for the 21st consecutive season on September 4th. The Redskins will be looking to end a four game skid against the Panthers.
Madill
- Madill and Lone Grove will meet for the 35th time on October 30th. The Wildcats are aiming to end a five game losing streak to the Longhorns. Madill has a 18-16 advantage in series history.
- The Wildcats host Idabel on October 23rd. It’s the first game between the teams since 1989. The Wildcats are 2-4 against the Warriors dating back to 1980.
Marlow
- The Outlaws open the season at Millwood. It’s the first regular season meeting between the teams. They have met three times in the playoffs with the Outlaws taking two out of three.
- Marlow takes on Henrietta, Texas for the first time in the home opener on September 4th. The Bearcats finished 8-5 in 2025 and were eliminated in the third round of the Class 3A-Division II playoffs by Gunter.
Metro Christian
- Metro Christian and Berryhill do battle for the first time since 2013. The Patriots have won 4 straight against the Chiefs, last losing in the 2005 Class 3A playoffs.
- The Patriots and Cascia Hall will meet for the 11th time since 1988. Metro Christian has won the last three, including a 41-14 decision in 2025.
Mt. St. Mary
- Quarterback Roman Manella completed 23 of 32 passes for 376 yards and three touchdowns in Mt. St. Mary’s 53-0 win over Perry.
- Mount St. Mary and Jones will play for the third consecutive season. The Rockets will try to break a 12-game losing streak to the Longhorns, last winning 14-12 in 1979.
Muldrow
- Muldrow has taken the last two games from arch-rival Roland. The series has been tight the past 25 years with Muldrow owning a 14-11 edge over the Rangers.
- The Bulldogs take on Vian for the fifth consecutive season. Only 25 miles separate the Sequoyah County schools. Muldrow will be gunning for its first win against the Wolverines since 1989.
North Rock Creek
- Tecumseh travels to North Rock Creek for the season opener on November 27th. It’s the first ever meeting for the two schools that border Shawnee on the north and south.
- North Rock Creek will look to knock off McLoud for the first time in three tries. The Redskins are back on the schedule and in the same district after a two year absence
Oklahoma Christian School
- Rival Christian Heritage is not on the schedule for the first time since 2007. It will be only the seventh time the two teams have not played since 1982.
- OCS and Kingfisher face off for the first time since 2017 and the third time ever on October 2nd. The Saints won the last meeting 28-22.
Pauls Valley
- Pauls Valley will be going for its sixth win in a row over Madill. The teams will play for the 31st time on October 2nd. The Panthers own an 18-12 advantage over the Wildcats.
- The Panthers will look to extend a six game winning streak against Dickson. Pauls Valley has won 18 of the 22 meetings against the Comets.
Perkins-Tryon
- Wide receiver Westin Atkinson caught 5 passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns in the Demons 63-6 win over Mannford.
- Perkins-Tryon has qualified for the playoffs the past 12 seasons. That’s the third longest current streak in Class 3A behind Heritage Hall and Jones.
Plainview
- Jett Frankum rushed 22 times for 235 yards and two touchdowns in the Indians 30-26 loss to Kingfisher.
- Plainview has defeated Purcell six games in a row and has won the last four games by a combined margin of 205-31.
Purcell
- The Dragons will take on Mt. St. Mary for the first time since 1981 and the fourth time in history. Purcell is 4-0 against the Rockets with a combined margin of 166-8.
- The Purcell-Lexington series dates back to 1906 with the Dragons winning 6-5. Purcell has owned the Battle of the Bridge lately winning the last six matchups.
Seminole
- Mike Snyder’s next win will be the 400th in his career. This will be Snyder’s 47th year as head coach for the Chieftains.
- Seminole has won 10 of 11 and two in a row against Harrah. The Chieftains lead the all-time series 17-3 dating back to 1974.
Star Spencer
- Star Spencer will take on Northwest Classen for the third year in a row. The Bobcats have won five in a row against the Knights last losing 26-8 in 1986.
- The Bobcats meet the Madill Wildcats for only the second time and first in the regular season on October 15th. Madill beat Star 27-12 in the first round of the 2012 Class 3A playoffs.
Stigler
- Quarterback Graham Easttom rushed 20 times for 166 yards and four touchdowns in the Panthers 35-14 win over Checotah.
- Stigler and Kingston will play for the first time in the regular season on September 4th. The Panthers beat the Redskins 49-14 in their only previous meeting in the 2020 Class 3A quarterfinals.
Sulphur
- Sulphur travels to Gunter, Texas on September 18th. The Tigers are a perennial powerhouse with a record of 73-5 the past five seasons and 13-2 in 2025.
- Sulphur ended a five-game losing streak to Washington with a 28-19 win in the season opener. The victory also ended Washington’s 45-game winning streak.
Verdigris
- Sperry and Verdigris will meet for the 25th time on September 4th to open the season. The all-time series is dead even at 12 wins per side. Verdigris won 27-15 in 2025.
- Miami is back on the schedule for the first time since 2021. The Cardinals have won 5 of 6 all-time against the WarDogs and the last three with a combined margin of 132-10.
Vinita
- Vinita and Metro Christian will meet for the third time and the first time since 2007. Vinita won both previous meetings including a 27-20 decision in 2007.
- Vinita travels to Stilwell on September 4th. It’s the first game between the teams since 1987. The Indians have won 3 of 4 against the Hornets including the last 20-7.
