VYPE: One of your recent cheer awards was All-Region. How does it feel to be recognized for your talents?
AL: Being recognized for my talent feels good because I feel like not a lot of people understand how hard cheer is and how much cheerleaders have talent.
VYPE: Which teammate, past or present, has inspired you the most?
AL: My sister, Shayla, has inspired me the most. She has shown me in all sports I do that I am good and I just have to push when it gets hard. She is one of the best cheerleaders, gymnasts that I know personally, and I just try to be better than her to push me to be better.
VYPE: What would your younger self be most proud you’ve accomplished?
AL: My younger self would be proud of me doing my hard tumbling for the cheer team because I never would have thought I could tumble on dead. Growing up, I have only tumbled on spring floor and it shows that I can do what I need to do to help the team.
VYPE: What advice would you give to her?
AL: My advice would probably be, ‘nothing is impossible, and as long as you have your one or two people you trust and understand you, you will make it through.’
VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
AL: I plan on going to SWOSU to become a radiologist and then go to the peace corps and help there and just live the best life I can.
