Weatherford High School’s Johnathan Bodenstein
VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?
Johnathan: I’m hoping our team will be able to go all the way to the finals in the state tournament. I’m wanting to make it to all state this year.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Johnathan: The most fun I’ve had so far this year is when my team did a pickup game where I actually got to play on the field and not be in goal.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?
Johnathan: Tommy Willis, he’s been my soccer coach for all of high school and been my teacher for two years. He’s always pushing me to get better and do good in class.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Johnathan: My favorite memory happened during our Eagle classic tournament when I made three penalty kick saves to win the game and move us on to win the tournament.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Johnathan: It was a fellow goalie who graduated two years ago, his name is Hunter Pagliasotti and he started his senior year. He has pushed me to get better and give me a high target to aim for.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Johnathan: I’d Say it’s Carson Allen, he’s a voice on the field and very entertaining.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Johnathan: I’d choose to go to Italy; I’d probably take my friends and we’d just explore everything there.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 dollars and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Johnathan: I’d get me a new pair of goalie gloves then probably put off the rest in a savings account for later in life.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Johnathan: I want to say thank you to all my coaches throughout the year and that you’ve made all my time playing soccer amazing. Goodbye to all my teammates who have more years of soccer ahead of them. Thank you to all the parents and fans that have gone to the team games through the years and survived through the cold and hot.
