When Ansley Butler takes the court for Weatherford High School this volleyball season, it
will mark the start of her final year of prep volleyball. Butler started playing volleyball in
middle school and has loved being part of the varsity team.
“I just wanted to try something new. I’m so happy I did. As the years have gone by, I’ve fallen in love with the sport. I think Weatherford is a great place to be a student-athlete because everyone is like family. The staff and your teammates always have your back and treat you like family,” said Butler.
The outlook for the season is positive. “I love that we all get along. We don’t fight and we just make the best memories together every time we go somewhere. Keyzli Denton is a player to watch. She’s been improving so much and has so much talent,” said Butler. “I think we’ll be successful this season just how much we have improved since the beginning of the season and in practice. It makes me so excited to see how we’ve improved even more.”
The senior points to the friendships she has made and the bond she shares with her teammates as what she loves the most. In the classroom, Butler said her favorite subject is math and she plans to attend Rose State where she hopes to become a dental hygienist. Butler also serves in Student Council and runs track. She wants her senior class to be remembered for how much fun they had in high school and how many memories they made together as a group.
